From trout and grayling to salmon, sea trout, bonefish, and even GTs, HALO reels have proven themselves across the globe. That’s why we developed the Halo EVO — a refined evolution of the original HALO concept. These three models retain the classic Stealth Black finish and the sealed drag system anglers have come to trust. They remain at a highly attractive price point, offering exceptional value and performance. Refined Design & Versatility
Halo EVO features a narrower, more modern spool width and slightly deeper spools to accommodate a wider range of fly lines and backing. With three models in the lineup, each size covers a broader spectrum of line weights — simplifying choice without sacrificing versatility. Halo EVO reels are designed to perform in both freshwater and saltwater environments, with corrosion-resistant components for long-term reliability.
Durable Construction & Smooth Performance
In its price range, Halo EVO offers class-leading quality in both materials and manufacturing. These large arbor fly reels are CNC-machined from high-grade aluminium, ensuring durability and smooth operation on the water. All models feature a full-frame design that stabilizes the structure and prevents thin shooting lines from slipping between spool and frame — a must for today’s diverse fly line systems. The large arbor design enables fast line retrieval and reduces memory in the fly line.
Adapted Drag Strengths
The sealed carbon/stainless disc drag system is proven over years of fishing in all conditions — from cold rivers to tropical flats. It requires minimal maintenance and is built to withstand years of active use in both freshwater and saltwater environments. To optimize performance, each model features a drag system tailored to its intended use. The 46 Trout model offers 1.5 kg of drag power at the spool base, while the 79 and 911 models put out 4.0 kg of drag power for heavier fish in tough conditions.
Signature Halo EVO Details
The reels come with a Left-Hand retrieve direction, but it is quick and easy to change, requiring only a few minutes and no tools. Ergonomic drag knobs ensure secure handling and easy adjustments, even with wet hands or cold fingers. The spool and frame rims feature engraved circles — the signature “Halo” effect. The Stealth Black finish, combined with chrome accents, gives Halo EVO a clean, modern look that pairs well with a wide range of rods and environments. All models share the same external design, with subtle differences in drag knobs. The 46 model features a smaller knob with a matching centre plate, while the 79 and 911 reels have larger, fully chromed knobs for enhanced grip and visual contrast.
Halo EVO #46 - Single hand rods in #4- #5 and #6 wt. and a capacity up to WF #5 +100m 20 lbs backing. If you need a reel for both 4-, 5-, and 6 wt. rods and lines, this is your best alternative. Versatile model for most trout orientated applications.
Halo EVO #79 - More powerful single hand & switch rods in #7-9. The reel can store WF #8 + 100m 20 lbs backing or shooting head in 7/8 + compline + 100m 20 lbs backing. The choice for heavier coastal fishing, pike fishing in #8/9 and tropical in #7/8.
Halo EVO #911 - The size for double hand rods in #8/9 to #10/11 with generous storage for backing and shooting line (+230 m 30lbs). This is also the model for the most demanding tropical fishing targeting tarpon and GT with single hand rods and WF lines in #11-12.
