A.Jensen DRY FLY #3/5 Fly Reel

The Dry fly reel is made specifically for the dedicated Light line fly fisherman.

At the start of designing this reel the intension was to make it for Dry Fly fishing, but several of our ProTeam members from France in the South to Finland in the North asked us to change the frame, which originally was an open frame. They all asked us to make it a full frame reel and the reason was, that it would then also be perfect for the modern nymph fisherman, both the recreative and the competition minded nymph fisherman.

The result is this little beauty.

The reel is CNC cut from High Grade 6061 Aircraft Aluminium. The sheer strength of this pretty expensive material ensures high stability, which is one of the most important issues, especially when you at the same time make a light reel.

The full frame design ensures that the base of the reel is as stable and strong as possible and at the same time it prevents the line to “jump” of the spool and get tangled around the main shaft. The little extra weight the full frame design gives is well compensated by the much better functionality when fishing. I think we all know of people that has lost fish (strangely most often big ones ??) due to a line that tangled around the main shaft of an open frame reel.

The reel is in ultra large arbor design with it 95 mm diameter. That ensures soft startup when a fish rush, of course well supported by the delicate carbon disc brake system.

And it also comes in handy when retrieving line.
